Special air quality statements remained in effect for areas of west-central Saskatchewan on Tuesday, while rainfall warnings popped up across central parts of the province.
According to Environment Canada, heavy rain was falling in areas around Melfort, Tisdale, Nipawin, Hudson Bay and Porcupine Plain.
“Stationary to slow-moving showers in the area are producing large rainfall totals over the area, and may cause localized flooding,” the weather service said. “The showers will taper off through the morning.”
Meanwhile, wildfire smoke continued to blanket western parts of the province, including North Battleford, Unity, Wilkie and Lloydminster. The statements also covered communities such as La Loche, La Ronge, Prince Albert and Rosthern.
