Two arrested in cocaine trafficking bust near Île-à-la-Crosse

A man and a woman from Buffalo Narrows were arrested after police seized cocaine during a traffic stop on Highway #155 near Île-à-la-Crosse on Oct. 12.

During the stop, a small amount of cocaine, a large sum of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia were found, leading to their arrest at around 3 a.m. by the Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP.

After further investigation, they both are facing two charges including one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.

They appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on October 15, 2024 (Information #90531926).
