Pierceland RCMP arrest man wanted on firearm, weapons charges

Pierceland RCMP have arrested a 23-year-old man who was wanted after shots were fired at a home on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.

The incident happened on Nov. 5, but police say they have arrested the man responsible for pulling the trigger.

RCMP located and arrested Trent Oseemeemow at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory on Dec. 17.

Oseemeemow was wanted by Pierceland RCMP for the shooting, and for breaching court-ordered conditions and failing to attend court.

He has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possessing a firearm when knowing unauthorized, possessing a firearm when prohibited, failing to comply with release order conditions, mischief, and damage to property over $5000.

He is scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Thursday.
