Nelson Lokombo signs extension with Riders
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are bringing back its starting safety from 2024.
Nelson Lokobmo has been announced as the latest Rider to sign a contract extension.
The Abbotsford, B.C., product will return for his fifth CFL season. The Riders selected the former University of Saskatchewan Huskie second overall in the 2021 CFL Draft.
Lokombo played all 18 regular season games in 2024, 17 of those games at safety. The 25-year-old set a career-high in defensive tackles (44) and also recorded his first career sack. Lokombo also recorded his first career interception in the CFL West semifinal to help the Riders defeat the B.C. Lions.
