Second-degree murder, manslaughter charges after Waterhen Lake victim dies
Police have updated charges for two men arrested after the victim in a shooting on Waterhen Lake First Nation on Feb. 8 died in hospital.
In a news release on Feb. 17, Saskatchewan RCMP said shooting victim 29-year old Antoine Hamm from Waterhen Lake First Nation died on Feb. 13 and the two men previously arrested were now facing further charges.
Police said one of the men was now charged with second-degree murder after being previously charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm with intent; while the second man was now charged with manslaughter with a firearm after previously being charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in a vehicle.
Police earlier said the men were arrested without incident on Feb. 8, are both aged 42 and also from Waterhen Lake First Nation.
