M.L. Council approves apartment parking lot application

Aug 29, 2018 | 12:55 PM

A busy apartment complex in Meadow Lake will now have more room for parking, thanks to a recent approval from Meadow Lake City Council.

Al MacFarlane, owner of Meadow Lake Properties, a construction and rental company in the city, applied to be able to use the land adjacent to 607 Centre St to expand the parking lot to the north of the building. Formerly the Martin Gran School, the area only had a cluster of trees.

MacFarlane had previously applied for a discretionary use application for the development earlier this year, but the public hearing for the application took place earlier this week.

There was no public feedback about the development, aside from a few questions. Deputy Mayor Merlin Seymour acknowledged the trees had already been removed, and MacFarlane said he did that as many people were hiding in the trees smoking.
