M.L. Broncos still perfect with two games remaining

The Meadow Lake Broncos improved to 12-0 this weekend, picking up a 10-1 win versus the Big River Braves in Saturday night Beaver Lakes Hockey League (BLHL) action.

Scoring the game’s first goal, five minutes in was Alex Vidal, a relatively recent addition for the Broncos. His marker was assisted by Colby Vidal.

Defence was on display for the next 10 minutes as the next goal wasn’t scored until there was five minutes remaining in the opening period when Brody Brooks of the Broncos netted his first and only goal in the game. He would however add two assists on goals in the third period.

Cliff Bear, wearing number 26 for the Broncos, had two goals in the win as did Jordan Oystrick who took a high stick during the game and required stitches afterwards.

Also scoring was Les Ludwig and Tyler Wilson. Picking up the victory in net was Jarrod Lafond.

Meadow Lake has two games remaining in the regular season. Their next tilt is on the road, Jan. 28 when the team travels to take on Jon Mirasty and the La Ronge 89ers.

The regular season comes to a close on home ice Feb.4 when the Broncos welcome the 89ers at the Pineridge Ford Arena.
