UPDATE: Heavy RCMP presence in M.L. today

UPDATE: Seven individuals have been taken into custody as part of an ongoing and long term investigation in to drug trafficking.

Following searches, controlled substances and other evidence was seized.

RCMP Const. Khen Wilkins said they believe the search warrants were part of a continuing investigation. Police will be on scene at both locations for several more hours.

Meadow Lake RCMP is executing multiple search warrants in the area this morning, and the public is being asked to stay clear of several areas.

With the assistance from neighbouring detachments, police are executing warrants on both a business on First Ave. W. and a residence on Bridger Dr.

The investigation is expected to take most of the day, and there is no safety risk to the public during this time according to police.

More information will be released as the investigation develops.
