Meadow Lake emergency management team delivering COVID-19 information to local doorsteps

The City of Meadow Lake is issuing necessary information for residents surrounding local efforts in the COVID-19 pandemic and will be delivering packages to residents beginning Tuesday.

In an email to meadowlakeNOW, Fire Chief Neil Marsh said the purpose of the information is to ensure all residents have complete and accurate information regarding the current pandemic.

“It’s a pandemic survival guide of sorts, to help everyone make the best of this difficult situation and to encourage personal and family disaster-readiness in general, which is important at all times, pandemic or not,” Marsh said.

Meadow Lake’s emergency management team and numerous volunteers will be delivering informational packages to each residence within the city starting April 14. The packages are being prepared, assembled and delivered with great care to ensure safety from virus transmission.

“The city wants to encourage everyone to get connected with local information sources by using our Voyent-Alert community communication system,” he said.

Voyent-Alert offers regular city updates and can be downloaded to a mobile device here.

In addition to information packages, the city is asking for public input on how the pandemic has impacted local individuals and businesses.

The responses will be shared with city council, the city’s Emergency Measures Organization and other local agencies to help guide discussions around supportive measures. The survey can be found here.
