Province records seven new COVID-19 cases, 18 recoveries

The province has recorded seven new cases of COVID-19.

The new cases are located in the Central East (one) and Regina (six) zones. The total amount of reported cases is now at 1,899.

Of the total cases, 138 are considered active. A total of 1,719 people have recovered with 18 new recoveries added to the total in the last day.

Eight people are in hospital receiving inpatient care. Six patients are in Saskatoon, one is in Regina, and one is in the South West.

Of the 1,899 cases, 286 are travellers, 936 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 555 have no known exposures and 122 are under investigation by local public health.

Across the province, 73 cases are healthcare workers (although not all sourced their infections from work). There are 325 cases involving people aged 19 years old and younger.

There are 621 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 584 in the 40 to 59 age range, 306 in the 60 to 79 age range and 63 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-one per cent of cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

There are 24 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to date.

There are:

  • 441 cases are from the south area (222 south west, 200 south central, 19 south east) 385 cases are from the Saskatoon area
  • 359 cases are from the far north area (350 far north west, zero far north central, nine far north east)
  • 276 cases are from the north area (132 north west, 77 north central, 67 north east)
  • 256 cases are from the central area (175 central west, 81 central east)
  • 182 cases are from the Regina area
  • 122 are under investigation by local public health.

To date, 189,515 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province, with 1,447 performed yesterday.

Testing is available to anyone who requests it, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms.
