Two COVID-19 deaths, 116 new cases reported
Two more people who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, both of whom are from the north. According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority, one was in their 60s from the Far North West, while the other was in their 50s in the North East.
These are the first COVID-19-related deaths reported in the province since Oct. 11. There have now been 27 fatalities to date.
There were also 116 new COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday—the second-highest one-day total in the province since the beginning of the pandemic. Thirty-one new cases are reported across the north: the Far North West (four), Far North Central (one), Far North East (two), North West (nine), North Central (10), North East (five). Regina accounts for 39 of the new cases, while Saskatoon is reporting 38. There are three in South Central two in Central East with one each in the South West, and South East zones. One case has pending residence information and has not been assigned a zone.
Of the 3,738 reported cases, 985 are considered active. A total of 2,726 people have recovered.
