Local communities approved for road safety projects
The latest list of communities to receive funding from the provincial government for road safety projects includes the Rural Municipalities (R.M.s) of Tisdale, Bjorkdale, and Foam Lake.
In total, 66 communities across Saskatchewan have been approved for grants totalling $750,000 from the Provincial Traffic Safety Fund.
The various projects include speed display signs and other speed reduction initiatives, as well as funding for intersection and crosswalk improvements. A full list of approved projects and grant amounts can be viewed here.
The R.M. of Tisdale was awarded over $13,000 for “Project Speed Control”, while the R.M. of Bjorkdale receives over $7,000 for speed control signs in the Barrier Ford and Marean Lake areas. Over $11,000 goes to the RM of Foam Lake for flashing speed display signs.
