Meadow Lake RCMP investigating attempted murder, gang activity

Police in Meadow Lake are looking into an incident they believe is associated with gang activity.

On April 13, Meadow Lake RCMP responded to a call reporting shots fired outside of a business located at the 600th block of First Avenue. The initial report to police mentioned two separate groups of people started an altercation outside of the business. During the situation, a gun was fired several times, damaging a bystanders windshield without harming the individual. Each of the suspects quickly fled the scene either on foot or in their vehicles.

Officials stated there are no reported injuries at this time, and that the investigation is still underway. No arrests have been made in relation to this incident. RCMP believe the incident is related to street gang activity. The Saskatchewan RCMP mentioned the force has been working to install initiatives addressing the increase in gang violence in the west central part of Saskatchewan.
