Province reports 20 new cases of COVID-19, two deaths

The province is reporting 20 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan today. With the 12 new recoveries, this brings the provincial total to 49,362 cases; recoveries total 48,407 and 380 cases are considered active.

There are currently 192 active cases in the six northern zones of the province.

The new cases in Northern Saskatchewan are located in the following zones: Far North West, three; Far North East, one; North West, two; and North Central, two. One case is pending residence information.

One case who tested out-of-province was added to the Saskatoon zone. Three cases with pending residence were assigned to zones: Far North Central, two; and North West, one.

Two new deaths were reported today. One death was reported in the 60 to 69 age group from the North West zone and one death was reported in the 70 to 79 age group from the Far North East zone.

NITHA Data

There are 87 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), six; Far North West, 18; Far North East, 60; North Central, one; and North East, two.

There are 39 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; two, Far North West, seven; and Far North East, 29; North Central, one; and North East, 0.

There have been 3,802 cases (96 per cent) that have recovered, and three people are hospitalized.

Vaccines Reported

An additional 10,925 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,332,135.

The additional 10,925 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 117; Far North Central, five; Far North East, 154; North West, 733; North Central, 460; North East, 242; Saskatoon, 4,462; Central West, 216; Central East, 619; Regina, 2,556; South West, 216; South Central, 196; and South East, 613. There were 336 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-three per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 58 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
