Sask. reports 420 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, three new deaths

The province has confirmed another 420 new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, bringing the total to 58,715 reported cases.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (seven), Far North East (28), North West (46), North Central (65), North East (26), Saskatoon (146), Central West (14), Central East (17), Regina (24), South West (nine), South Central (seven) and South East (13) zones and 18 new cases have pending residence information.

Of the total cases in the province, 13,759 are from the North area; 5,738 North West, 5,922 North Central, 2,099 North East. There are 3,744 active cases. Over one third of the new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category and 16.7 per cent of new cases were in individuals who were fully vaccinated.

As of Sept. 12, a total of 198 people are in hopsital including 45 ICU hospitalizations. Of those 198 patients, 154 or approximately 78 per cent were not fully vaccinated.

There were also three new deaths reported Sunday bringing the total number to 621 with a case fatality rate of 1.1 per cent.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan was 369 or 30.6 new cases per 100,000.
