480 new COVID-19 cases, eight new deaths reported

The province of Saskatchewan is reporting 480 new COVID-19 cases, 402 of cases are from the unvaccinated. Of those unvaccinated, 100 are aged 11 or younger, who are not yet eligible to receive the vaccine.

Eight new deaths were reported, taking the total to 708. The active cases are approaching the 5,000-mark as it is currently at 4,824. Hospitalizations are at 306, a decrease of seven from Friday.

NITHA numbers

There are 20 new cases to report today in NITHA communities. 18 (90%) were unvaccinated, 1 (5%) are partially vaccinated and 1 (5%) were fully vaccinated.

There are 252 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 10; Far North West, 62; Far North East, 127; North Central, 46; and North East, 7. 5781 cases (95%) have recovered, and 19 people are hospitalized.

Athabasca Health Authority

The Athabasca Health Authority is reporting four active COVID-19 cases, three in Fond-du-Lac and one in Black Lake.
