15 new COVID-19 hospitalizations, 354 new cases in province

COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to grow in Saskatchewan. They increased by 15 people in Sunday’s update and there are now a record 321 people in Saskatchewan hospitals being treated with COVID-19, 69 of which are in the intensive care unit (ICU). In the northern part of the province, 42 people (three in ICU) are in the North Central and 35 (three in ICU) are in the North West, and five (none in ICU) are in the North East. There are four inpatients in the Far North West.

There were 354 new COVID-19 cases in the province, with 54 new cases in the Nort West, 18 in North Central, 11 in North East, 10 in the Far North East, five in the Far North West, and three in Far North Central.

Three new deaths were reported, making the new total 711. There are 4,718 active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, a decrease of 106 from Saturday’s update. There were 457 new recoveries and 63,215 total recoveries in the province.

NITHA numbers

There are 21 new cases to report today in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority communities; 14 (67 per cent) were unvaccinated, and seven (33 per cent) were fully vaccinated.

There are 232 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 11; Far North West, 58; Far North East, 112; North Central, 40; and North East, 11; 5,822 cases (96%) have recovered, and 19 people are hospitalized.

Athabasca Health Authority

Two new COVID-19 cases were reported in Fond-du-Lac. There are now six active cases in the Athabasca Health Authority region, with five in Fond-du-Lac and one in Black Lake.
