Province announces 73 new cases of COVID-19, active cases now below 1,000

The Saskatchewan government has announced 73 new cases of COVID-19 in the province.

For Northern Saskatchewan, the new cases are found in the Far North East (one), North West (three), North Central (13), and eight new cases have pending residence information.

There are 998 active cases and 78,503 cases are considered recovered.

Less than one-third (31.5 per cent) of new cases are between the ages of 20 to 39 years. Almost one-half (47.3 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) was fully vaccinated.

As of Nov. 22, a total of 152 people are in hospital including 35 in the ICU. Of the 152 patients, 108 (71.1 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

In addition to Sask. ICUs, there are eight residents receiving care in Ontario.

There is one new death reported for a total of 912 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 who have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1 per cent.

NITHA data

As of Nov. 21, there are seven new cases to report in NITHA communities. Of the new cases, six (86 per cent) were unvaccinated and one (33 per cent) was fully vaccinated.

There are 37 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are found in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 0; Far North West, 16; Far North East, three; North Central, 17; and North East, one. There are 6,841 cases (99 per cent) recovered, and seven people are hospitalized.
