Daily COVID-19 numbers show 69 new cases in province, two more deaths

The Government of Saskatchewan is reporting 69 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province along with two new deaths.

In Northern Saskatchewan, the new cases were located in the Far North West (two), Far North East (one), North West (one), and North Central (seven).

There are 1,014 cases considered active and 78,553 cases are considered recovered.

Less than one-third (29 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 11 years and younger. Less than one-third (30.6 per cent) of new cases eligible for vacation (aged 12 years and older) was fully vaccinated.

As of Nov. 23, a total of 149 individuals are in hospital, including 34 in ICU. Of the 149 patients, 102 (68.5 per cent) were not fully vaccinated. In addition to the Saskatchewan ICU counts, there are seven residents receiving out of province care in hospital. One person has been repatriated since yesterday.

Between Nov. 17 and Nov. 23, 11,422 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given in the province, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in Saskatchewan to 1,713,156. Currently, 81 per cent of those 12 years and older are fully vaccinated.

There were 723 new cases reported last week bringing the provincial total to 80,481. There were 952 recoveries recovered during the same period. The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases in the province is currently at 103 (8.6 per 100,000).

Delivery of pediatric vaccines is underway with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) planning to offer immunizations in 141 communities across the province, in more than 100 schools, and through specialized clinics for children with additional needs. NITHA data

As of Nov. 22, there were four new cases of COVID-19 to report in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) communities. Of those new cases, 100 per cent were unvaccinated.

There are currently 38 active cases in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), (zero), Far North West (14), Far North East (seven), North Central (16), and North East (one). A total of 6,844 cases have recovered and eight people are hospitalized.
