Province reports 52 new cases of COVID-19, four deaths

The Government of Saskatchewan has reported 52 new cases of COVID-19.

The new cases in northern Saskatchewan are located in the North West (four), North Central (five), and three new cases have pending residence information.

In Saskatchewan 898 cases are considered active and 79,078 cases are considered recovered. Just over one-third (34.6 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 11 or under. More than two-fifths (41.2 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) was fully vaccinated.

As of November 28, a total of 129 individuals are hospitalized; including 93 inpatient hospitalizations, and 36 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 129 patients, 88 (68.2 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

There are five residents receiving out of province care in hospital. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard. Since yesterday’s report, there has been one (1) repatriation.

Four new deaths were reported today and in total, 925 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1 per cent.

There has been a reported 12,708 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in the five to 11 age range (Far North West 162; Far North Central 6; Far North East 122; North West 770; North Central 565; North East 181; Saskatoon 4,633; Regina 3,474; Central West 332; Central East 743; South West 350; South Central 468; South East 785; unable to assign 117).

The five to 11 vaccination data will be added to the COVID-19 dashboard next week. Note: 11 year olds who will turn 12 in 2021 previously reported in the 12 to 17 category are now included in the five to 11 category.

NITHA data

As of Nov. 27, there are no new cases to report in NITHA communities.

There are 23 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 0; Far North West, six; Far North East, seven; North Central, 10; and North East, 0.

In total, 6,851 cases (99 per cent) have recovered, and one person is hospitalized.
