Saskatchewan Country Closeup – Darryl Anderson

Mar 30, 2022 | 11:34 AM

From an early age, Darryl Anderson realized how enjoyable music truly is by watching his mom dancing around their home to Elvis and always finding time to partake in his family’s living room singalongs.

Darryl shares his music through a series called ‘Kitchen Sessions’, which are continuing to grow in popularity on social media. His authentic and energetic character are what make his performances something genuinely unique. It is easy to spot Darryl’s down to earth musical influence anywhere. In 2017, he started his first band, River’s Edge, which continues to actively receive bookings. In 2018, his band won Ponoka’s Stampede Battle of the Bands. Previous winners include Gord Bamford and Shane Yellowbird.

His small-town relatability and use of fiddles in his music to tribute his Metis heritage has created a resonating sound people are excited to listen to.

Alongside his solo career, Darryl is the lead vocalist/rhythm guitar player for the band Rivers Edge. Being a high energy vocalist, with a love for singing the classics and always being ready to perform any country favorite, it is a guarantee that you will be singing and dancing alongside Rivers Edge at any show. Originally from the small community of Big River, Darryl now calls Saskatoon, Saskatchewan home.
