Duplex development on route to construction
Construction of nine duplexes in Meadow Lake’s east end is having quite the rollercoaster ride through council.
The development came back to the table at a special council meeting held earlier today, July 7. Council rescinded the approved application only to give it the green light again moments later.
At the June 27 meeting, council approved the Third St. E. development with the condition no secondary suites will be permitted in the homes.
Due to the residential zoning bylaws, the lot sizes and construction plans meet all requirements for secondary suites. To avoid an appeal by Tupper’s Construction owner, Darcy Tupper council rescinded the condition allowing for suites.
