Loon Lake RCMP warn public of increased break-and-enters in area, one arrested

Loon Lake RCMP have issued a warning to the public after a spike in crime in the area.

Police say there has been a rise of reported break-and-enters in the Makwa Lake Resort/Loon Lake community over the last 24 hours.

Initial investigation saw police identify and arrest one suspect, however, RCMP are advising residents to remain vigilant as there could be more crimes yet to be reported. The investigation is ongoing.

People in the area are being encouraged to check and secure their personal property, ensure all doors and windows are locked, and to report any suspicious activity to the Loon Lake RCMP, or 911 in an emergency.
