Pelican Narrows man sought after allegedly pointing gun at RCMP officers

Police are looking for a man who pointed a firearm at officers in Pelican Narrows.

The incident happened on Saturday, when Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Teams (CRT) from Meadow Lake and La Ronge were attempting to arrest a man at a home in Pelican Narrows.

During the execution of the arrest warrant, the man left the house and stood on a covered deck, and he pointed a gun at officers multiple times. The suspect then took off into a nearby forested area.

Officers weren’t able to find him, despite the use of their Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS).

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 26-year-old Solomon Custer of Pelican Narrows.

He is charged with:

  • 1 count, pointing a firearm, section 87(1) of the Criminal Code
  • 1 count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, section 88(1) of the Criminal Code
  • 1 count, resist arrest, section 129(a) of the Criminal Code
  • 1 count, assault on a police officer with a weapon, section 270.01(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

RCMP are asking the public to report all sightings and information about Solomon Custer’s whereabouts to 310-RCMP (7267) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

He is described as 5’9” tall, 155 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Police believe Custer may be in the Pelican Narrows area, and they caution people not to approach him.
