M.L. to start hydrant flushing in May

As part of Meadow Lake’s annual civic maintenance, the city will be flushing its water hydrants beginning in May.

Diana Burton, city manager said resident’s tap water may appear discoloured.

“If they notice their water is discoloured, they should just run their water for a few minutes until it clears. It usually just takes a minute or two,” Burton said.

Hydrant flushing is a co-ordinated effort to clean out the water pipes and clear residue out.

It is expected to wrap up towards the end of spring, or early summer.
