M.L. RCMP respond to far fewer calls to service in past week

Jul 11, 2016 | 12:06 PM

Meadow Lake RCMP are enjoying a quieter than usual summer.

In the past seven days, July 4 to 10, officers have responded to 99 calls for service; much fewer than the 120 to 140 they typically respond to.

Acting detachment commander, Cpl. Robert Wolfenden attributes the lower number of calls to service this past week to people on holidays and pro-active patrols by the RCMP.

Officers responded to one call on July 10 of a sudden death. Members arrived to find a 50 year-old male who passed away. The death is being considered non-suspicious.
