M.L. RCMP kept busy with false alarms and investigations

Oct 18, 2016 | 2:04 PM

Despite the bad weather and poor road conditions, there were only a few collisions over the last week in Meadow Lake. However, due to the power outages, RCMP were kept busy responding to false alarms throughout the city.

On Saturday, Oct. 15, police were dispatched to two calls for service at different times.

The first call alleged a male had rifles and was threatening to shoot another male, to which police responded and determined the complaint was false. Shortly after, a second complaint came in that a female was being held hostage and was stabbed. Once again officers responded in full force and found that this complaint was also false and made by the same person.

A 35 year-old male, whose name was not released is facing charges of public mischief.
