M.L. Broncos improve with 4-3 win over Flyers

Nov 28, 2016 | 11:00 AM

The Meadow Lake Broncos senior hockey team’s perfect season continues after a 4-3 win against the Whitefish Flyers this past weekend.

Despite only having 10 skaters and one goalie, the Flyers played a close game against the defending Beaver Lakes Hockey League champions.

In the first period, Whitefish opened the scoring with a shot from Tyrone Thomas. It was answered less than four minutes later by Koby Vidal. Two minutes after that, the Broncos pulled ahead with Ashton Mcyntyre scoring off a pass from Captain Taylor Arnold.

Most of the scoring between the teams happened in the second period with each team netting two goals.

For Meadow Lake, Mcyntyre scored his second of the night with Mitch Paramchuk netting the game winner with just over three minutes to play in the second.

The third period ended without any scoring and four penalties, two per side.

With the 4-3 win, Meadow Lake improves to 4-0 on the season and will look to keep it going on Saturday, Dec. 3 when the Broncs welcome the Big River Braves to Pineride Ford Arena. Puck drop is at 8 p.m.
