Staff at local business threatened with knife during robbery: RCMP

A man threatened staff at a First Ave. W. business with a knife during an armed robbery early Wednesday morning, according to RCMP.

Police said the male suspect entered the business at approximately 3 a.m. wearing a bandana over his face. The suspect menaced staff inside with a knife, RCMP said, before leaving with “a small amount of cash and cigarettes.”

The suspect was only inside for a few minutes and fled on a bicycle after the robbery. According to the RCMP, no one was injured during the incident.

Police patrolled the area after the alleged crime was reported, but were unable to locate the suspect. The perpetrator was described as 5’10” tall, weighing 130 lbs, with short, black hair.
