Jun 12, 2018 | 5:00 PM

Meadow Lake Conservation Officers made a gruesome discovery near Meadow Lake recently, when they located the remains of a pregnant deer and two fetuses.

According to SaskTip, officers patrolling approximately 25 km east of Meadow Lake discovered a gut pile and the partial remains of a white-tailed deer doe and two fawn fetuses April 22. The pregnant doe was shot and killed, SaskTip reported, leading to the deaths of both fetuses.

ATV tracks were found at the scene, SaskTip reported, and further evidence was collected by conservation officers.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area during the days prior to April 22, including hearing gunshots or seeing vehicle or ATV traffic, was asked to contact the provincial Turn In Poachers line or make an online report.
