Warmer weather means more calls for Meadow Lake RCMP

Jun 27, 2018 | 10:00 AM

June has been a busy month for Meadow Lake’s RCMP detachment.

As of June 26, officers have responded to 527 calls in the area. A total of 333 were in the city, including property crimes, mischief, vehicle thefts, and assaults. RCMP answered 137 calls so far this month from the surrounding R.M., which ranged from break-and-enters to impaired driving complaints. Police also responded to 32 calls for service on Flying Dust First Nation and 25 on Waterhen Lake First Nation.

Cpl. Dean Kabaroff said during the summer months, residents need to be conscientious about their belongings.

“People should never leave keys or valuables in their vehicles while unattended,” Kabaroff said. “People should lock and secure sheds, garages, and residences. With summer holidays approaching, people should have someone check their residences regularly while they are away.”
