Helicopter pilot treated for injuries after crash near Unity

Police and Transport Canada officials are investigating after a helicopter crashed in the R.M. of Eye Hill Tuesday, near Unity.

The crash occurred at 8:15 a.m. after the pilot came into contact with a power line. RCMP said their initial investigation determined the helicopter was being used to spray a field with a non-toxic liquid at the time.

The pilot, who was the lone occupant of the aircraft, was treated on scene by EMS. He was transported to a hospital Saskatoon via STARS to treat non-life-threatening injuries.

Unity RCMP, Transport Canada, the Transport Safety Board, and Occupational Health and Safety continue to investigate
