Unique tour to showcase local artists
The Lake Country Arts Tour is offering a different approach to an artisan showcase, by allowing attendees to get a glimpse at the surrounding countryside while checking out local artistic talent.
The tour, which is set to take place Aug. 11 and 12, is now in its fourth year. This year’s tour will feature two different stops with multiple artists and artisans to visit. Some of this year’s vendors will be showcasing pottery, acrylic paintings, glass, soaps, garden art, and lampwork beading, just to name a few.
Glass artist Valinda Lawson is the host at one of the stops. She said she enjoys having the opportunity to interact with people in this way. She makes stained glass, fused glass, and cast glass garden pieces.
“It’s nice to go around to people’s studios and workspaces,” Lawson said. “I think they appreciate the variety we have, and it’s very relaxed.”
