Loon Lake RCMP apprehended an Onion Lake man with a stolen truck and several weapons on Saturday.

Police responded to a tip in the Ministikwan area Aug. 4 concerning a stolen truck from Alberta. Sgt. Ryan How said the driver of the truck was believed to have fled from officers in other detachments earlier in the day.

“Loon Lake members located the stolen truck and were able to disable it with a spike belt,” he said. “The driver fled into the bushes and was located later the next day.”

A total of 22 rifles, shotguns, brass knuckles, and other weapons were seized from the vehicle along with Canadian and American currency. All of the weapons were all believed to be stolen out of Alberta.
