CAA Sask. to offer ride assist program for safe rides home

CAA Saskatchewan is rolling out a new way to help people get home safe without drinking and driving.

The Ride Assist program is set to be launched in the fall and will offer members the chance to call for a ride which will count as one of their roadside assistance calls.

“It could be due to an appointment with a doctor, hospital call, it could be impaired driving – whatever their situation is, they don’t want to get behind the wheel and drive, they can call on CAA roadside assistance through the Ride Assist program and a tow truck driver will pick them up and take them to where they need to go,” explained Christine Niemczyk with CAA Saskatchewan.

She explained CAA has heard from members that sometimes they just need a ride rather than a tow for their actual vehicle.
