Riders’ Hurl celebrates game 100, remembers 1st Labour Day game
It’s a day the Rider Nation looks forward to every year, but this year’s is a little more special for linebacker Sam Hurl.
The 28-year-old is in the midst of his seventh CFL season and will play in his 100th game Sunday when the Roughriders go toe-to-toe against his former team, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
“It’s been a big goal of mine for a lot of years now (to make 100 games),” Hurl said from the locker room on Friday. “I’m pretty excited about it. Ultimately I want to get many more but it’s just a nice little goal I can check off my list here.”
And he gets to celebrate on the team that started it all for him.
