Planned power outage for Meadow Lake and area Sunday

Residents of Meadow Lake and surrounding area will be without power for a bit on Sunday.
Between 6 a.m. and Noon, Meadow lake-Pierceland Dorintosh’s power will be down due to system improvements, affecting customers in Big Island First Nation, Ministikwan First Nation, Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, Lac Des Iles, Pierce Lake, Barthel, Peerless, Pine Cove, Golden Ridge, and all surrounding rural areas.
From 11 a.m. to Noon, power will be down in Meadow Lake, affecting customers in Meadow Lake, Green Lake, Dorintosh, Flying Dust First Nation, Waterhen Lake First nation, South Waterhen, Jeannette Lake, Greg Lake, Kimball Lake, Eagle Lake Cabana, Neeb, and all farms in these areas.
SaskPower will be doing system improvements, replacing transmission line poles. The work can’t be done in an energized state, according to SaskPower spokesperson Jordan Jackle.
