One dead, one seriously injured after school bus, truck collide near Pierceland

One person is dead and another is in hospital after a two-vehicle collision in the Rural Municipality of Beaver River, near the community of Pierceland.
RCMP said the collision occurred at the intersection of Township Road 623 and Range Road 3254 at around 7:50 a.m. Thursday morning.
An initial investigation found a westbound pickup truck collided with a northbound school bus. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch of the northwest corner of the intersection. While the truck was on its wheels, the school bus landed on its side.
The adult male driver of the truck was declared dead at the scene, while the female passenger was transported to hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported and no passengers were on the bus at the time.
