RCMP seek suspect after poppy donation fund theft in Meadow Lake

Nov 12, 2018 | 6:09 PM

Police in Meadow Lake are searching for a suspect who broke into a local business and took funds from a poppy donation box.

Sometime between Nov. 10 and the morning of Nov. 12, RCMP said Sandstone Salon on Third St. E in Meadow Lake was broken into and had funds taken from a Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund container.

During that same time, they said an unsuccessful attempt was made to enter Ron’s Plumbing and Heating.

Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund are used to support Canada’s veterans and their dependents. All funds are placed in trust, to be used for the care and support of veterans and their families.
