The anticipated Cost of Healthy Meals and Snacks for Children and Youth in Saskatchewan 2015 report written by the Public Health Nutritionist of Saskatchewan.

Schools, childcare facilities and community organizations can use the resource to assist them in planning and budgeting to help ensure that they have the appropriate resources available to purchase and prepare healthy foods for their meal programs to support a healthy food environment.

The tool identifies the average SK costs for healthy meals and snacks for each child per day were $1.32 for breakfast, $2.09 for lunch and $1.22 for a snack. The report also breaks down the costs according to different geographical locations in Saskatchewan.
