The Ministry of Highways, Fleet Services, is seeking a motivated individual interested in an apprentice opportunity as an apprentice mechanic in one of the Ministry Shops.
Under the general direction of the Shop Manager/Supervisor, you will be working with Journeyperson technicians to learn and assist with mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and Saskatchewan Government Insurance safety inspections to all types of trucks, highway construction and maintenance equipment. Some services will be performed in the shop and field, and travel may be required with the possibility of overnight stays.
To qualify for this position:
You will need to be mechanically inclined and possess a second-, third-, or fourth-year apprentice certificate in the Truck Transport, Heavy Duty or Agriculture trades. Candidates who have completed mechanical pre-employment training in the field may be considered.
