In Loving Memory of
DONALD BARAGAR
December 22, 1926 – July 6, 2016

Don was born in Aneroid, Sk on December 22, 1926 and passed away peacefully in North Battleford, Sk on July 6th, 2016. He was the 11th child of 13 children born to Bidwell and Elizabeth Baragar.

He was raised and went to school in the Reliance District. During his school years and after he worked on the family farm and eventually took it over.

Don married Lynn Smith on October 10, 1952 and had two daughters, Cathie and Nancy.

In the winter of 1961, they bought a farm and moved to Morin Creek. After back surgery that prevented him from farming, he became the Pest Control Officer in 1976, for Meadow Lake and surrounding area.

Don and Lynn always had an open door for family and friends in need.

After retiring, they moved to Saskatoon to spend the winters for health reasons. They eventually made it their permanent home on the banks of the Saskatchewan River. Don would spend hours enjoying canoers, boaters and wildlife from his easy chair in their living room.

When Lynn passed away in May, 2014, Don moved to a Personal Care Home in Saskatoon and in November, 2015 he moved to Harwood Manor in North Battleford. He was always telling family and friends that he was very happy and well cared for. Nothing made him happier than when his grandkids and great grandkids would visit. He loved entertaining them with his harmonica and handkerchief mice.

His sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him.

Rarely were Don and Lynn seen apart. Now they are together once again.

Memorial service was held at St. John’s Columbarium in Saskatoon on July 25, 2016.

Arrangements were in care of MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (306-934-4888).
