Robert (Bob) Schreiner July 30, 1948- October 8, 2023
Bob Schreiner died unexpectedly, October 8, 2023 in Saskatoon Hospital at the age of 75 Bob was born in Welland, Ontario to Philip and Gertrude Schreiner. When he was just two years old, he moved with his parents and his sister Doris to Annaheim, Saskatchewan where his family farmed his great grandfather’s homestead. In 1956 a little girl Colette, was added to the family who idolized and followed Bob where ever he went.
Bob had his schooling in Schuler School and Laurier High School in Annaheim, Sk. In 1966 he finished high school, and started working at various jobs in Regina and Saskatoon. Wherever he worked, he was drawn back to the farm every spring and fall to help seed and harvest the crop. In Dec. 1969 he started working at, what was then called, Noranda Potash mine in Viscount, Sk. until 1973. In 1971 he met Lois Feucht from Green Lake. Lois was a teacher in the Meadow Lake area. In the mid-seventies, Bob decided to farm full time on the farm near Annaheim. In the winters he worked at Cominco Potash Mine until Bob and Lois were married July 25, 1981. From then on, when Bob and Lois were not at the school and the farm, they spent time making a home on their acreage near Meadow Lake. Here is where Bob and Lois raised horses, donkeys, cats and dogs. Lois and Bob did everything together and shared many projects and were committed to each other for 52 years. In 2010 Bob retired from farming and took up hauling logs in the north so he could come home to Meadow Lake every night. In 2016 he truly retired to the acreage.
Bob was a kind, patient man who always looked out for those around him. He found pleasure in helping anyone who needed his help. He adopted all his nieces and nephews with love and a keen interest in all that they accomplished and did. He had a quiet wit that left us all in stitches at times, and he had a deep compassion and understanding for all his family. He held all living things in high esteem and protected and cared for all animals, both wild and domesticated. One could see it in the tall sticks planted in the fields, protecting bird nests that had living eggs or chicks. He could fix anything that was broken and invent and built things that were needed. He spent many hours in the shop puttering on engines and other favourite projects. He enjoyed going to the cabin that he and Lois had on Green Lake and spent many hours fishing and relaxing with friends.
Bob will be dearly missed by his wife Lois, his sister Dolly (Doris) (Bob) Brunn and Children Shauna (Sean) McGee, their children Troy (Lauren), Conor (Emma), and Jocelynn; Teralee Brunn (Kirk), and children Ryan (Bella) and Kyle (Megan), his sister Colette Schreiner, and children Philip (Julie) Steernberg and children Davina and Tabitha; Trudi Steernberg and Nicole Steernberg,; His Feucht niece and nephews; Terri Feucht (Calvin Fender); Their children, Chase (Crystal Kelly) Hepworth; Raquel (Spencer) McNamara; Travis Hepworth, and fiance, McKayla MacQuarrie; Christie Fender; Keith Feucht (Carol Banks); and family, Daneka Feucht; son, Richard (June) Feucht; and family, Justin Feucht; and Sophie Feucht. He is predeceased by his parents Philip and Gertrude Schreiner, his in-laws, Carl and Edna Feucht, sister-in-law, Opal Feucht, and most recently his brother-in-law Dale Feucht.
