JAMES THORSTEINSON, SASK PARTY: As a third-generation rancher, James has spent most of his life working in the Ag sector, as well as some contract work in the oilfield. A strong advocate for mental health, he served on the Board of the Libbie Young Center in Lloydminster, which provides housing, programming, and education for people struggling with their mental health. James served as the Saskatchewan Party President from 2014-2023. He resides on his cattle ranch north of Maidstone. He and his wife, Lana have three sons and two future daughters in law.

CLATYON POOLE, NDP: Clayton Poole lives in Ruddell where he previously served on the village council. Clayton studied mechanical engineering at the University of Saskatchewan and works as a site lead in rail car repair at Procor.

STEVE GESSNER, SASK UNITED PARTY: Steve was born in Humboldt as the eldest of five children. When he was five years old, his family moved from that farm to a larger farm, between The Battlefords & Wilkie in the Cut Knife – Turtleford constituency. Steve and his wife Kathy have been married for nearly 40 years. They have raised two daughters and now have two grandsons and one granddaughter. Throughout his career Steve has worked in farming, heavy construction and transportation.
