Meadow Lake RCMP warn of phone scams

Meadow Lake RCMP are again receiving complaints of phone fraud. Citizens are getting phone calls from someone claiming to be with Revenue Canada. They then demand money and say the RCMP will be called to enforce payment.
The RCMP would like the public to be aware that this is a scam. Revenue Canada does not operate in this fashion, nor does the RCMP ever collect money.
The calls seem to come in spurts. Several people have been victimized and do send money.
The RCMP strongly encourage everyone be aware of the scams and not provide any personal information or money.
