Weekend sees severe weather in south Saskatchewan
Environment Canada is confirming that a tornado touched down west of Biggar on Friday afternnon.
Dan Fulton a meteorologist with Environment Canada said that the tornado touched down for around 5 minutes. Fulton said that 5 minutes is generally the normal amount of time that a tornado will be down for on the prairies.
Fulton said that the tornado touched down in a farmer’s field and that he was not aware of any damage.
According to Fulton, storms originally developed to the south and west of Saskatoon and eventually moved south from there.
