Oct 4, 2023 | 4:22 PM

A 16-year-old teenage boy from Lloydminster has died after a multi-vehicle collision caused by a deer.

Around 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday, RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 17, south of Onion Lake.

It was determined an SUV struck a deer before colliding with another car.

The teenage boy, who was a passenger in the car, was declared deceased at the scene by EMS. His family has since been notified.

The car’s driver and two other passengers, along with the driver and a passenger in the SUV, were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Maidstone officers continue to investigate with help from an RCMP collision reconstructionist.
