May 15, North Battleford Holy Doors Celebration – Please mark your calendars for the Holy Doors celebration in the Battlefords being held at 5:00pm on Sunday, May 15 at Notre Dame Parish in North Battleford. Further information will be published as it is available. Everyone is invited to this special Jubilee of Mercy celebration.

  • May 17, Meadow Lake Youth Event – Youth will get together at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Meadow Lake from 4:00-8:00pm, mass included at 6:30pm to share music, fellowship, and experience the Year of Mercy.
  • May 21, St. Eugene Parish, Nipawin – “Join the Journey” retreat on Saturday, May 21 from 10:30-4:30pm.  A full day retreat with fun, faith, food, music and celebrating the Year of Mercy.
  • May 24, North Battleford Faith Day – Sessions on mercy will take place at John Paul II Collegiate in North Battleford beginning at 9:00am.
  • May 31, Battleford Grade 12 Retreat – The retreat for those graduating this year will take place at Oblate Hill in Battleford from 9:30am-3pm. 
  • June 5, Domremy Youth Retreat – There will be a youth retreat in Domremy on June 5.  More information to come. 

May 18, Spirituality stages of our lives at Oblate Hill, Battleford – An evening with Ron Rolheiser, OMI video evening will be held on May 18 at 7:00pm.  Discussion will follow a short video.  The theme is Spirituality and the Different Stages of our Lives: One Size Doesn’t Fit All.  Contact Fr. May 20-22 Retreat for women touched by cancer – Exhale, life beyond cancer.  A retreat for women who’ve been touched by cancer will take place May 20, 21 and 22 at Queen’s Retreat and Renewal Centre in Saskatoon, SK.  Registration $345, discount $20 if paid by May 6. May 27, Prince Albert Catholic Community Schools 2nd Annual Powwow – It will take place at W.F.A. Turgeon Catholic Community School (1180 Branion Dr. Prince Albert). May 28, 8th Annual Altar Server Appreciation Day, “Olympics of Mercy”- All Altar Servers are invited to attend! This event will take place on May 28 at Par Place from 10am-4pm (just west of Prince Albert on the Shellbrook Hwy).  In case of rain, venue will be moved into Sacred Heart Cathedral and Rivier Academy.  The day will include games, sports and lots of fun. A closing celebration with Bishop Thévenot, M. Afr. will include a special recognition certificate and gift for all servers present who have served 5 years or more.  Registration forms will be online by Tuesday, May 3. June 1, Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide by Catholic Health Association of Saskatchewan (CHAS) – It’s Time to Talk… Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide.  The Scriptures teach that life is a precious God-given gift. Our society’s acceptance and potential normalizing of physician-assisted death and euthanasia are worthy of reflection. This presentation will explore the dangers these practices pose to all Canadians, providing participants with the necessary tools to engage in this discussion. Come deepen your understanding of the political situation in Canada, share your stories and questions, and learn more about how you can approach suffering with the compassion of Christ.  Presenter: Mary Deutscher, Ph.D.  The session will be held 7-9:00 pm on Wednesday, June 1 at Mont St. Joseph Home (777- 28 St East, Prince Albert).
