There will be six administrative jobs eliminated. Fan said four of them are currently vacant.

“Two are occupied by someone today,” Fan said. “We will have to discuss a work place adjustment strategy with the union for the in scope position. The out of scope will be a direct layoff. We will have to discuss which positions will be affected.” 

Fan said these cuts will make up $315,000 of the $448,000 needed. The other $133,000 will come from reduced administrative spending like recruitment costs.  

Of the 13 long term care homes under Prairie North, eight will acquire new positions. The Battlefords combined have four long term care homes, while Maidstone, Meadow Lake, Lloydminster, and Goodsoil make up the other four.
