GoFundMe campaign set up for a young shooting victim has seen an outpouring of support over the last two days.

The fundraiser, titled Justice for Colten, has raised more than $21,000 of a $30,000 goal by 490 people as of 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug 15.

The fundraiser started after Colton Boushie was shot and killed on a property near Biggar on Tuesday, Aug. 9.

According to the page, money raised will go towards Boushie’s funeral expenses as well as lodging for family coming from America.

His death has sparked controversy online centred on First Nations relationships in Saskatchewan.

Those who were with Boushie said they had a flat tire and pulled onto the property looking for help. RCMP said the group was told to leave and Boushie ended up being shot and killed on the scene.

Property owner Gerald Stanley has been charged with second-degree murder.

He will make his next appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Thursday, Aug. 18.
